A Little Family Time and a Party!

To say it has been a little crazy around the Prince home is an understatement! Between starting a new at home business ( while on maternity leave-maybe not the smartest thing, but its fun!!), entertaining kids, sick kids, keeping up with the household chores, and our social life, this mama is exhausted! But not to exhausted to have a little farm fun with my little one and host a PARTY!

A few weeks ago David and I decided we wanted to have a special day with Martin. We haven't really got to spend one on one time with him since Mason was born and we felt that it was important to give him some individual mom and dad time before I have to go back to work! So we invited our dear friends, The Chapman's, and loaded our cars up and headed to the LAZY 5 RANCH!!

The boys had a blast! The moms...well...lets just say we took one for the team! Definitely enjoyed watching our little ones get excited about all the animals but sure didn't love when the Emus tired to eat our hair or the other animals blow snot every where! Gross!

At the Lazy 5 Ranch you have the option of driving your car through the park or taking a hay ride. We originally thought we would just drive so the boys would be in the car. Plus they said all the hayrides were booked. But thanks to the Chapman's we were able to get on a hayride. And boy are we glad we took the hayride and not drive! Once we saw how those animals ate the food and were afraid to come after it we quickly realized our car would have been a MESS if we had driven! However, if we had driven we probably wouldn't have lost Martin's SHOE! Oh yes! As we stop at the giraffes David is helping Martin feed them. I look down over the other side of the wagon and notice Martins crock is laying on the ground! Yes I freaked out a little! Thank goodness the Emus that had been following our wagon were not close by! David tried to "fish" the shoe up but wasn't success full so he QUICKLY jumped down to rescue the shoe! Its never a dull moment when The Prince family is around!

Martin had a fantastic time and we are so thankful that we had such great friends to be able to spend such special days with! Martin and Alex may not remember their first time at the Lazy 5 but the moms and dads will! Thanks Mat and Sallie for sharing such a special day with us!!

And of course I can't end the Month of May with out host a fun party!! I love a good party!! We are so blessed to have such fantastic Sunday School class (growth group as we now call it). We have lots of young couples who are either having babies or getting married. So there are plenty of excuse to throw a party! This time it was Caroline's turn to be flattered with gifts! The girls or our GG threw her a little bridal shower a few weeks ago. It was such a fun time of fellowship and laughter!

As I was preparing the house for our party I decided a few areas in the house need a little something extra! You know I love a monogram! Ha! So I decided to add a few to our house! Oh yes I did! I added a monogram to our guest bathroom and to our living room lamps! I think they turned out pretty cute! What do you think?!?!

Summer always puts me in the craft mood! I have many projects on my summer "bucket list"! So stay tuned to see what June holds!

Oh and Thank you to Mathieu Chapman for the cute Lazy 5 pictures....Check out his Facebook site! He's a great photographer! https://www.facebook.com/mchapmanphotography?fref=ts

Just like most girl, growing up the one thing I wanted was to find my "Prince Charming" and get married. I didn't date a lot in high school...well..ok..not at all! I had awesome guy friends but never had a "boyfriend." While I was in college I still didn't date. I had an amazing group of friends and we had a fantastic time! However, the ladies out there know exactly what was in the back of my head as I went into my Junior year of college and still had not seriously dated anyone...."I'm NEVER going to get married!" "What is wrong with me!"

Well summer of my senior year I began dating this guy. In fact we dated for nearly 6 years and even got engaged! YES! Finally my dream was coming true! Let the wedding planning begin! I had the best time trying on dresses, looking at wedding magazines, tasting food, etc. but in all the fun of planning the wedding something just didn't seem right. I had the ring, the wedding was on track and I was finally getting married! But why after 6 years did I JUST NOW realize this was not the guy for me!? He was a great guy but was he MY "Prince Charming? After praying and lots of tears I ended the relationship and the engagement. One of the hardest things I have ever had to do! Nothing anyone did wrong, I just realized that I was following MY own agenda and not the Lord's plan for me.

Ending my engagement and a relationship of 6 years put me in one of the lowest places of my life. What now?!?!  I had poured my life into that relationship and had lost many friends and honestly had lost myself! My dream of being a wife and mom quickly went down the drain! Was I going to be single FOREVER! It sure seemed like it! I was so lonely and didn't have many friends especially "local" friends! BUT My Lord is so faithful! During the next 3 years He brought some of the most precious people into my life and rebuilt many relationships. Some of the closest and dearest friends I have to this day He brought into my life during that time. My faith grew stronger and I finally learned to trust and have faith in My Savior! Don't get me wrong I still had that desire to be a wife but I didn't dwell on it, I had an amazing Peace that He would bring my "Prince" to me in His timing. And He did!! However, I sure had to go through a couple of "frogs" before I got to my treasure!

Many of my friends set me up on blind dates before I met David and lets just say NONE of them got a second date! I'm pretty much the type of person that I can have one dinner with you and know if I am going to like you or not! So maybe I don't give people much of a chance but hey...why waste my time and yours :)! Hehe! . So when Diane Reel emailed me about another blind date I pretty much told her I wasn't interested and I was NOT going on any more blind dates!!

A few weeks went by and something came over me and I emailed Diane to let her know that if the guy was still interested I would go on one date with him. A couple days later I received an email from David and we arranged to have our first date. He lived in Linconlton at the time and I was already going to be in Denver so we decided he could just pick me up at Diane's house. Well, what I didn't tell him was that my Denver "family"  would also be there! Poor guy walked into the kitchen and there I stood along with 8 other people!! Nothing like trying to scare him off before I even get in the car! We went on to have a fantastic date! He brought me back to my friend's house and as I got out of the car I remember thinking..." I hope he calls me for another date!" WHAT...I wanted another date!! Had I found my Prince Charming?!?! Well......7 months later he popped the questions and I SAID YES! ( The engagement story is a whole different blog!!! Its quit the story!!) 4 months after getting the ring on May 15, 2010 I walked down the isle to meet MY PRINCE CHARMING and become Mrs. David Prince!

Today we celebrate 3 of the most wonderful years a girl could ever ask for! No it hasn't always been a fair tale but I sure have enjoyed going through the ups and downs with my "Prince." The Lord has blessed me more than I could EVER imagine and I am so thankful! When I ended my first engagement it was so hard for me to see the Lord's plan and I didn't understand! SO many people were upset with me! I was so frustrated, sad, and mad all at the same time but He is SOO faithful! The Lord's plan is DEFINATELY better than my plan!! I look forward to seeing what He has planed for us in the coming year and years to come!!

Hi Ya’ll! Thank you for checking out my very first Blog!! For those that know me, this is a VERY Big deal! I have never been one to enjoy writing and frankly, I am not very good at it! So fair warning, posts will possibly include misspelled words and bad grammar but hopefully you will be able to read past those and enjoy the content!

So... you may ask, why is she starting a blog if she hates to write and can’t spell….well….good question! Back in 2010 I met my “Prince” charming. We had a whirl wind courtship and after dating for just a few months he popped the question and I became Mrs. Prince. During the first year of our marriage I had gallbladder surgery and became pregnant with our first son, Martin.  Twenty months after giving birth to Martin we had Mason. SO, needless to say the first three years of our marriage have been a little crazy! Because life is moving so fast I felt like I was "forgetting" memories! After reading several of my friends blogs I decided this would be a great way to document all the fun and crazy things happening in our family! PLUS just a few short weeks ago I launched my own business, Prince Design. I LOVE to make things! So why not try to make a little $$ doing what I love! And what better way to show off my custom creations then in blog! So that's why I have jumped on the blog train!

If you want to follow our crazy and fun family adventures and learn a little about my obsession with crafts and DIY projects then hop on the Monogram Mama and her Prince's Blog train and enjoy the ride!
